Your wedding day will naturally live long in your memory and the music played will always have a special place in your heart, so it is important to choose a well qualified piper to enhance the proceedings.

 

John can tailor your musical package to suit your own preferences, but here's what's usually included:

 

• Playing for your guests as they arrive at the ceremony location.
• Playing the bride into and out of the ceremony venue if requested.
• Playing as your guests exit the ceremony.
• Background playing while your photos are being taken.
• Playing as your guests arrive at the reception venue and during drinks reception.
• Playing the bride & groom to the top table if required.

 

Special requests are welcome. Please bear in mind that not all tunes translate well for the bagpipes so John will advise you accordingly. If you require additional playing for your evening reception please just ask for a quotation.

The sound of the Highland bagpipes immediately gives a sense of occasion to any event, and is particularly well received by overseas visitors. Pipe Major John MacDonald will be guided by your company’s requirements with regard to the choice and frequency of music. He will also be more than happy to interact with your guests if they have a special interest in pipe music or Gaelic language and culture.

 

John has played for many corporate organisations in Inverness and the Highlands. In 2008 he travelled to China and the Faroe Islands with Highlands Loch Ness Marketing Group to encourage tourism into Scotland. John is always happy to assist at tourism events and his knowledge of the Gaelic language is always well received!

 

If you are organising an event that lasts more than one day, or if it involves other activities such as an evening reception, please ask for a quotation.

 

Day Rate: £200 (7 hrs approx)

 

funerals and memorial services

Bagpipe music is entirely suited to more solemn occasions and there are many pipe tunes that will lend a respectful and gentle touch to a memorial service for a loved one. Please contact John to discuss your requirements.

mileage & expenses

Mileage is included for venues in the Inverness and Loch Ness area. Travel to venues over 20 miles from Inverness is charged at 40p/mile. If your event is further afield or abroad please contact John for a quotation.
